French Mortgage Connection are able to provide you with an initial Decision in Principle, free and without any obligation, to help you determine the amount you could borrow along with the details of the associated monthly mortgage repayments involved with various mortgage options, as currently available in the French mortgage market.

If you wish, you can also take this a stage further and 'pre-qualify' for a mortgage without a specific property in mind at this stage.

This can save you time later on, gives peace of mind and confidence, and can put you in a very strong position once you have found a property at a later stage.

All this can be done without any initial cost or obligation: but, either way, it all starts with completing a basic decision in principle form (see below). 

All information provided is treated in strict confidence (although it may be divulged to French lenders, of course): all we ask is that the information you provide is wholly accurate and can be backed up later on, as and when it may be necessary to do so for you.

If we can place your requirements, you will receive a series of mortgage illustrations, together with general guidance, background information, and a comprehensive list of the documentation needed to make a full mortgage application. This will be sent to your email address, unless you specify otherwise. If the requirements look to be outside lending criteria we will of course explain why for you and we can then discuss your options.

IMPORTANT : We are obliged to mention that you should ensure that you have an appropriate "clause suspensive" (the full title = "clause de condition suspensive d'obtention de prêt") regarding any proposed / needed borrowing inserted into the compromis de vente (or other relevant type of initial French sales contract) you may subsequently enter into. You are advised to seek independent legal advice to ensure that the wording of any clause suspensive is appropriate and watertight. Under such clauses, if wishing to be protected by it, you are normally required to apply for your mortgage within certain timescales (usually 10 to 14 days), and prove you have a mortgage within 1 month of your signature(s) on the contract.
